Labels generated by BakeryBatch are tools to assist your food business — they are not certifications of regulatory compliance. You are solely responsible for ensuring your product labels meet the requirements of your jurisdiction (FDA, CFIA, UK Food Standards Agency, or any other applicable authority).

Nutrient Data Sources

Nutritional values in BakeryBatch are calculated using data from publicly available databases, including:

  • USDA FoodData Central (United States Department of Agriculture)
  • Canadian Nutrient File (CNF) (Health Canada)
  • CoFID (McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset, UK)

These databases contain reference values that may differ from the actual nutrient content of your specific ingredients. Factors such as supplier, season, growing conditions, and processing can affect actual nutrient levels. The accuracy of your labels depends on the accuracy of the data you provide and the underlying database values.

Laboratory Testing

Some jurisdictions and circumstances require laboratory analysis of your food products. BakeryBatch calculations are not a substitute for lab testing. If your regulator or situation requires lab-verified nutrition data, you must obtain that testing independently.

Your Responsibility

As the food producer, you are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of ingredient data you enter into BakeryBatch
  • Verifying generated labels against applicable regulations
  • Allergen declarations and warnings
  • Obtaining any required laboratory testing
  • Keeping your recipes and labels up to date when ingredients or suppliers change

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HealthStack shall not be liable for any damages, fines, penalties, product recalls, or losses arising from the use of nutrition labels or data generated by BakeryBatch. This includes, but is not limited to, errors in nutrient calculations, non-compliance with regulations, or inaccuracies in source database values.
